Haverfordwest County AFC are delighted to announce the signing of Ioan Evans, who joins the club after leaving Cefn Druids.

The exciting young defender, who predominantly plays at left-back, arrives at the Ogi Bridge Meadow on a one-year deal.

Evans, 19, has had experience in the youth setups at both Newport County and Swansea City.

Upon leaving the former, he linked up with Carmarthen Town, where he spent nine months between January and October 2021 before departing to join Pontardawe Town.

After a four-month spell at Parc Ynysderw in the Ardal South West, the youngster showed ambition by deciding to move up two leagues to join the Druids, a move which came with significant extra travelling.

In total, Evans made 13 appearances for the Ancients over the course of Phase One and Two in the JD Cymru Premier, and was one of the few positives for the north Walians as they were relegated to the JD Cymru North.

He featured in all three games that the Druids played against the Bluebirds after his arrival, and showcased his technical ability on each occasion, highlighting why he is viewed as a hot prospect in the league.

Evans is also a capable set-piece taker, something he demonstrated against the Bluebirds at the start of April when his free-kick from just outside the area found the back of the net, while he also scored directly from a corner against The New Saints in February.

We look forward to welcoming Ioan into the club for the coming season, and we’re excited to see what he can offer as we look to build on last season.
