Haverfordwest County host Cardiff Metropolitan University on Tuesday evening in the quarter-finals of the Nathaniel MG Cup.

The Bluebirds head into the tie with confidence after their 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Cefn Druids in the Cymru Premier on Saturday, while the Archers scored a 95th minute equaliser to earn a 1-1 draw in their game with Connah’s Quay Nomads.

Tomorrow’s match will see the two sides meet for the second time in 17 days. Wayne Jones’ side came out on top in the previous encounter at Cyncoed Campus, with goals from Ben Fawcett and Kieran Lewis giving County a deserved three points in the capital.

In the previous two rounds of the competition, the Bluebirds have recorded comfortable wins over Goytre United (3-0) and Undy Athletic (5-0), while the Students have seen off Ammanford (4-0) and Aberystwyth Town (5-2) in successive away ties.

The last time the sides met in the Nathaniel MG Cup came in the quarter-finals of the 2018-19 edition, when Christian Edwards’ side ran out comfortable 6-0 winners at Cyncoed Campus, as they went on to win the competition – beating Cambrian and Clydach Vale 2-0 at Barry Town United’s Jenner Park.

In the other three ties on Tuesday evening, Bala Town host Newtown at Maes Tegid, Pontypridd Town travel to take on Barry Town United and Connah’s Quay Nomads face Holywell Town in Deeside.
