Haverfordwest County welcome Cardiff Metropolitan to the Ogi Bridge Meadow on Saturday (April 23) for the final game of the JD Cymru Premier season.

The match is set up to be a mouthwatering encounter, with both teams standing a chance of finishing seventh and claiming top spot in the Play-Off Conference – as well as clinching the fourth and final place in the play-offs for next season’s Scottish Challenge Cup.

The Bluebirds head into tomorrow’s game in ninth position, two places and one point behind the Archers, who would assure themselves of seventh place with victory.

In the previous meeting between the teams three weeks ago, the Students took the spoils with a 3-2 win at Cyncoed Campus, with goals from Danny Williams and Alaric Jones not enough for County as we left empty-handed.

When the sides faced off in Phase One, the Bluebirds had the better of the meetings, with the 0-0 draw in the opening game of the season followed by a 2-0 win at Cyncoed Campus in October, with goals from Ben Fawcett and Kieran Lewis giving County all three points.

The two teams have changed positions numerous times over the course of Phase Two, with competition in the Play-Off Conference being keenly-fought right the way through.

In order for County to clinch seventh place, we must win and hope that Aberystwyth Town do not also secure victory at home to Connah’s Quay Nomads – who can also finish seventh if results go their way.

The game is to be shown live on S4C via Sgorio, and we will also have our official radio partners Pure West Radio in attendance to provide matchday entertainment via Deejayson and KA1. We recommend that supporters get to the ground as early as possible to take in the atmosphere for the final time this season.

Key man: Adam Roscrow – The striker made his name with the Archers after they were promoted to the then-Welsh Premier League in 2016-17. His performances earned him a move to EFL outfit AFC Wimbledon, before he returned to Wales with The New Saints. The 26-year-old made a return to the capital for this season, joining the Students on loan, and he has so far netted five goals.
