Haverfordwest County make the trip to the capital tomorrow to take on Cardiff Metropolitan University, as we aim to continue our recent good form in the JD Cymru Premier.

Last Saturday’s goalless draw against Connah’s Quay Nomads – which was shown live on S4C – extended the Bluebirds’ unbeaten run to six matches, and saw us leapfrog tomorrow’s opposition into seventh place after the Archers slipped to a 2-0 defeat to Cefn Druids, with Niall Flint’s first-half brace giving the Ancients their first league victory of the season.

The Students have been above County in the standings for the vast majority of the season, but our excellent recent form has seen us move up the table and into a position to compete for the final play-off spot for next season’s Scottish Challenge Cup.

The Bluebirds had the better of the two encounters between the teams in Phase One, as we followed up the 0-0 draw at the Ogi Bridge Meadow in August with an impressive 2-0 victory at Cyncoed Campus in October, with Ben Fawcett and Kieran Lewis finding the net to give County a deserved three points.

Christian Edwards’ side have made a mixed start to Phase Two, with draws against Connah’s Quay Nomads and Barry Town United to go with a victory over Aberystwyth Town, before last week’s surprise defeat at The Rock.

With the Bluebirds currently top of the Play-Off Conference by virtue of goal difference, a victory for Nicky Hayen’s side would see us open up a three-point gap to the Students, while a draw would be enough to see us remain seventh.

Key man: Adam Roscrow – The striker made his name with the Archers after they were promoted to the then-Welsh Premier League in 2016-17. His performances earned him a move to EFL outfit AFC Wimbledon, before he returned to Wales with The New Saints. The 26-year-old made a return to the capital for this season, joining the Students on loan, and he has so far netted five goals.
