Haverfordwest County make the trip to Bridgend on Tuesday evening to take on Penybont in the JD Cymru Premier.

The Bluebirds come into the game with confidence after Saturday’s 2-0 win away at Cardiff Metropolitan University, a result which saw them climb out of the relegation zone and extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to five matches.

Pen-y-Bont, meanwhile, suffered a 3-1 defeat to Newtown on the weekend and currently sit ninth in the standings, joint on points with the Bluebirds, having won just once in their opening eight games.

Rhys Griffiths’ side, who finished in the top half of the table last season, are perhaps slightly unfortunate not to be a couple of positions higher, with five draws to their name already.

Bont came out on top in both meetings between the sides last season, winning 4-0 at the Ogi Bridge Meadow in October 2020, before completing the double with a 2-0 victory at the SDM Glass Stadium back in April.

A victory for the Bluebirds could see them rise to as high as sixth in the table. However, the open nature of the league at this stage of the season is demonstrated by the fact that County could draw the game and still drop back into the relegation zone if Aberystwyth Town win on Wednesday and turn the goal difference in their favour.
