Haverfordwest County AFC can confirm that Danny Williams will be leaving the club upon the expiration of his contract this summer.

The 22-year-old joined the Bluebirds in 2017 from Pontardawe Town, and immediately hit the ground running in the JD Cymru South.

His performances during the 2017-18 and 2018-19 campaigns saw him earn a well-deserved move to Cardiff City in January 2019, where he featured the club’s under-23 side.

After a one-year stint in the capital, Williams returned west in the summer of 2020 to be a part of the team that had secured promotion back to the JD Cymru Premier.

Again, Williams was able to settle in very quickly, as he netted eight goals throughout Phase One, before adding a further two inn the second phase to end the season with 10 goals to his name from 30 appearances.

While the goals didn’t flow so easily last season – Williams played much of the season in a midfield role – he remained a key part of the team that was able to secure survival, as he played 23 times across Phase One and Two, netting four goals.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Danny for his efforts not only last season, but throughout his three spells with the club, and we wish him well with whatever comes next in his footballing journey.
