Haverfordwest County AFC welcome The New Saints to the Ogi Bridge Meadow for their first game of the season on Saturday, August 28 at 14:30.

Live match updates will be available on our Twitter feed and can also be followed on the Cymru Football app.

The New Saints come into this match having won both of their opening league matches, scoring nine goals in the process.

On the opening day of the season, they defeated Newtown 4-1, before coming out on top in a five-goal thriller with Caernarfon Town last weekend.

Managed by Anthony Limbrick, the Saints were a round away from qualifying for the group stages of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

They defeated Glentoran and Žalgiris Kaunas but lost to Viktoria Plzeň on penalties.

They were also eliminated from the Nathaniel MG Cup by Cymru North outfit Penrhyncoch, having fielded a young side.

Last time out

In our last match with the Saints, there was a win for the Bluebirds at the Bridge Meadow.

Corey Shephard put us in front before Blaine Hudson equalised but Cameron Keetch, 17 minutes from time defeated the Saints, for our first victory over them.

In our other meeting, last season we lost 3-2 at Park Hall, losing to a 90th-minute goal from Blaine Hudson.

Summer business

It has been a summer of strengthening for the Saints. They have broken their club and league record to sign Declan McManus, who has excelled since joining from Dunfermline Athletic.

He already has two goals in the league and scored six goals in their UECL qualifying campaign.

Danny Davies has joined from league rivals Connah’s Quay, whilst winger Jordan Williams moved on from Stockport County.

Ash Baker, who scored his first goal for the club last weekend, also joined having played for Newport County last season.

The table

Two games into the season and the Saints sit in second place, behind on goal difference to Flint Town United.

Haverfordwest are in ninth, having picked up one point.
