The Bluebirds welcome Newtown to the Bridge Meadow on Saturday (8th) for the penultimate game of the season.

Last Time Out

The Bluebirds travelled to Aberystwyth midweek, where goals from Jack Wilson and Danny Williams secured a point for the Bluebirds. County had plenty of chances to win the game, namely Ben Fawcett who was inches away from meeting an Elliot Scotcher cross, but the Bluebirds were forced to settle for a draw.

Newtown suffered defeat at the hands of Cardiff Met in a 5-goal thriller. Newtown were ahead inside a minute as Ofori scored for the Robins, however it didn’t last long as Lewis Rees equalized 4 minutes later. Ollie Hulbert gave Met the lead, before a Nick Rushton penalty levelled things again. Emlyn Lewis was sent off for a second yellow card offence for the Archers, but it was his side who secured all 3 points as Elliot Evans scored late on.

The Reverse Fixtures

The Robins visited Pembrokeshire all the way back in September, for what was the Bluebirds first home game. The Sgorio cameras visited the Bridge Meadow and the live game was a spectacle. Jordan Evans gave the visitors the lead in the 34th minute as he headed home at the back post from a long throw-in. The Bluebirds came out fighting in the second half and were awarded a penalty just before the hour mark, which Danny Williams confidently scored. The Bluebirds were behind again as Kieran Mills-Evans put the Robins back in front, but just 3 minutes later, Jack Wilson crossed to the far post and Danny Williams got his second of the game to draw the sides level. This would be the last goal of the game as the Bluebirds secured the point.

At the end of Phase 1, the Bluebirds travelled to Newtown where a commanding performance and goals from Kieran Lewis, Cameron Keetch and Marcus Griffiths secured a 3-0 win. The Bluebirds returned to Latham Park at the start of Phase 2 where two goals from Mwandwe and one from Ofori, Sutton and Evans secured a 5-1 win for the home side.

The Table

After the midweek results, the Bluebirds are in 3rd place in the Play-Off Conference, on 34 points with Newtown top, on 39 points.
