Haverfordwest County AFC travel to The Oval for their opening game of the Cymru Premier season on Saturday August 14 at 17:15.

Live match updates will be available on our feed, however, the game is being televised by Welsh language broadcaster S4C on Sgorio.

Caernarfon comes into the game having defeated 3-0 Ruthin Town in Round Two of the Nathaniel MG Cup.

The Bluebirds boast a good record against the Canaries, having never lost a game against them in the history of the Welsh top flight.

Last time out

Last season, Haverfordwest picked up four points from a possible six in our two meetings with Caernarfon.

The first was a 1-1 draw at The Oval in which Danny Williams scored a stoppage-time goal to cancel out Mike Hayes’ 76th-minute opener.

There would be big joy in the Gwynedd in our last visit, however, with a 4-1 win.

Caernarfon had went ahead with Gareth Edwards scoring the opener, however, Jack Wilson equalised in the first half. Ben Fawcett then put us in front before Wilson added another and Marcus Griffiths scored a fourth to ensure a big victory for Wolvesy’s men.

Summer business

Huw Griffiths has sought a number of reinforcements for the 2021/22 campaign.

Players such as Jack Kenny, Josh Tibbetts, Lewis Brass and long-serving defender Gareth Edwards have left.

In their place has come Danny Gosset, Rob Hughes and the returning Dion Donohue. Donohue spent a number of years in the professional game and was at Barrow in the English Football League last year.

Former Wrexham and Wales defender Steve Evans has also ended his playing retirement and will turn out for the Canaries at the grand age of 42-years-old.

Caernarfon have also signed goalkeeper Jakub Ojrzynski on loan from Liverpool.

The Table

At the time of writing, no games will have been played, meaning it will be a free-for-all for whoever claims the biggest margin of victory this weekend.
