Haverfordwest County AFC are delighted to announce Gary Richards as the club’s new Head of Coaching.

Richards will formally begin his role on Monday 9th August and will continue in his role as assistant manager to first-team manager Wayne Jones.

Waggy joined the Swansea City academy in 2003 and worked as a Lead Coach through the latter youth phases from Under 16’s to Under 23’s and as the First Team Coach first team under the likes of Roberto Martinez, Brendan Rodgers, and Michael Laudrup. He is responsible for bringing through the likes of Joe Rodon, Joe Allen, Oli McBurnie, Ben Davies, Conor Roberts and many more senior professional players.

In 2019 he left Swansea to join Cameron Toshack in the Cypriot Premier League and assisted him at Pafos until the end of last year.

Chairman Rob Edwards said “we are thrilled to have attracted somebody of Waggy’s experience and character.  He has achieved a lot in the game and has great credibility as a coach.

“It’s a massive coup for us, and he will no doubt play a huge role in driving our academy forward.”
